Hello all,

I suppose I should start by saying I have hip problems and the caravan beds are not comfortable, in fact I'm usually in a lot of pain while I am away in the caravan.

I have tried most things to no avail ie., memory foam (not the thin stuff) on top of the matress, a self inflating matress, sleeping on an air bed in the awning which used to be comfortable but even that doesn't work now.

I have been looking at the Aerobed and it does look comfortable, what I want to know is has anyone tried it, I would be grateful for any pro's and con's about it, I don't want to waste more money on something else that doesn't work.

TIA

-------------
Best regards
Jo

We have an aerobed, the minutebed I think it is.  it has a rechargeable thingy so we don't have to have a EHU while camping.

My husband does get a sore back sometimes he says he doesn't have trouble sleeping on it.

We've had ours two years now and no trouble at all (knock on wood)

Wow, thank you for your very swift reply .

This may sound a stupid question but is it noisey, I have one of the cheaper air beds and when moving about on it it is very noisey, it wakes me up if i turn over, it's a harder type of plastic so makes a crinkling noise when you move about.

I would think the Aerobed is more rubberised than a cheaper bed, am I right in thinking this ?

Thanks again.

Jo

hmm thinking about it, no I don't believe it does make as much noise as other's we've had before.  But I've not given the issue much thought.

Thanks again.

If you haven't given it much thought noise musn't be a problem.

I'll discuss it with my hubby tonight, I think he's getting a bit sick of me wasting money on things that don't work :-)

Hi we have an areo bed, and it is not rubberised, it is thick PVC with a flocked top.  It is a bit deeper than most airbeds and that makes a big difference to the comfort.

It comes in its own carry bag, with an electric pump which comes with 2 adaptors. The pump can be charged up at home beforehand, on 240v mains, or you can operate it from your car battery. It takes 60 seconds to fill the bed. We have only had ours since last autumn so its has only been used 3 times, but I find it very supportive (I have lumbar problems) and it is easy to adjust the pressure so it is firm or softer, depending on what suits you.  It comes with a 2 year guarrantee and will take a combined weight of some 40+ stones. So far, we are pleased with the quality and performance.

I have an Aero bed. Love it for camping and when guests stay at the house. Gets my vote.
