I've never put a tarp under a tent before, but I've read on here of a few people doing it, and it seems a good idea, but does it not cause water to lie under the tent?

What's the best way of doing it?  Put it down, then tent on top, then cut round it?

Cheers all

It has to be slightly smaller than the footprint of the tent. I was going to cut mine to size, but forgot a scissors, so just tucked it in underneath. it will collect water if there's any sticking out under the tent.

There are only two ways of doing things. My way and the right way but it sounds like a good plan. Maybe leave a little extra to allow for changes in the way you pitch.

Abe:     I used to be `with it.' But then they changed what `it' was. Now
     what I'm `with' isn't `it' and what's `it' seems weird and scary
to me. It'll happen to you.

Homer:     No way, man. We're gonna keep on rockin' forever!

OMG, A stanley knife, you're a braver person than me. I cut my finger on the knuckle with one of those , 20 odd years ago, and I can still wince at the thought of it, every time I see the scar. LOL

Have a great time, and if gets really windy, pack up early and come home.
