I'm relatively new to the camping experience and have just purchased a new tent - it' s the Coleman Velhas 8.  I fell in love with it as soon as i saw it, but i am now worried about the size of it.  The length of it is 770cm and i have read somewhere that some people with larger tents have had the problem of sites charging them for 2 pitches, because of the size of the tent being used.  Can anyone advise if this is something i should be worried about??

I haven't had that problem but have been looking at various sites  for our Vango Wyoming 800 and have found that some sites only take a certain size of tent, its just a case of keeping searching on the net and contacting the sites.

hi, i have been camping in tents for 5-6 years so a little hardened now.

i want to know if any reviews on this colman velhas tent are any good as i am thinking of replacing mine for it.

not bothered about tent size as i think i saw this last year and is no bigger than mine for a standard pitch.

two sleeping quarters with a nice section in the middle

The thing that caught my attention was that it had a middle section you can do all yor cooking or essential stuff in and you can sleep there too if you shut the outside parts of the tent.

Hi Alane.  We have used our tent since my first post and although I haven't seen any other reviews on it, in my opinion it is a great tent!!  Very roomy and SIG which is always a bonus.  No problem with tent size and it stood up to some not so great weather very well - hope this helps!

Hi happy didnt help much but if its the same as i saw last year at teignmouth then i think i could be pleasantly surprised.

It has the middle part to store stuff and you close at least to sections, ie front and back.

This is what i was most impressed with.

I use an aztec palacio tent and its great, drawbacks are that its not good when very windy, as the better tents for wind resistance are smaller, much smaller only 1 person tents.

Great tent has 3 sections and a large middle area to stay in, however after 5 years it is getting a bit bogged down and may need changing soon.

Dont stay at ben nevis with a dome tent i dont advise it to anyone.
