Hi everyone, new to the forum but have been an avid camper for years.
Wifey & I want to introduce our two girls (6 & 4) to camping. We will probably start with camping for weekends and bank holidays here in the UK.
What tents do you all recommend? We like the look of the Outwell Nebraska XL but i'm concerned about the reports about leaking.
We used to camp with a Vango Equinox with no problems. Do the Vango Killington tents come recommended?
Any other tents we shoudl consider.
Thanks for the help.
Simon

Although we currently have a folding camper we are trying to sell it to return to camping. The best tent we ever had was an Outwell Montana 6 - stood up to the worst wind and rain but also has so many doors with mesh inners that you can also keep cool in hot weather without the flies getting in. Plenty of room for 4 we have 2 girls aged 4 and 8 and they loved the sewn in ground sheet - keeps all the draughts out and bugs. We once had an outwell Hartford Xl too which was great - very cosy as on a particularly awful night we used to zip up the bedrooms and sleep in the huge lounge - sewn in ground sheets are great - with 3 bedrooms around you we were kept very cosy in the worst weather. Only downside was not as high for standing up in and had to pitch inner first which is not good in the rain.

Hi simon, welcome to the site. check out the tent review section at the top of the page. I have 2 tunnel tents and find them quick and easy to put up, with plenty of headroom and large living areas.

Go for the best you can afford really.
I like our Wild Country Homestead (see Gallery) - easy enough to put up, spacious enough without needing a huge pitch, and steady in high winds. You could also look at the Wild Country Family Khamsin for a different layout.

Hi simon.
It would depend upon your preferences, weight, room for transport etc. We have recently upgraded to Vango colorado because it has 3 bedrooms and is pitched fly sheet first. But it is a big tent, and will take a good hour to put up.
We have used a 4 man dome tent with two bedrooms, one either end, for 8 years for weekend and fair weather camping.
We haven't actually used our new tent yet (we have been plagued with family crisis and illness) we have camped for many years with children (now 19 15 13) so good luck, its great fun.
At the end of the day its a play off between cost/weight/time to put up etc. The Vango killington is similar to ours but more expensive due to sig. I can recomend vango as a make though.
As recomended above the tent review section is very good.
good luck
Annie
