Sorry for sounding like totally thick, but we are off camping for the first time shortly and I was dreading the long trip to the toilet block at night, so was delighted to hear there was such a thing as a camping loo, but how does it work? where do you empty it? How do you clean it when you're camping, do folk look at you strangely if you have to take it to the toilet block to empty, cos they'll all probably know what it is? sorry for asking such daft questions, but I really want one just don't know anything about them. Thanks for helping. Alison
We use a bottle. I use a Shewee that makes this possible. Takes up next to no room, doesn't matter if it gets knocked over and if you're embarrassed about emptiyiong it, you can pop it in a bag with your towel and stuff when you head to the showers.
Of course, you can't poo in it (well, if you can you probably need to see a doctor!), but most people only seem to use their loos/buckets for weeing in anyway.
