I agree that the material that the guy line is made from is important, some (but not all) synthetic lines can become slippy, especially under extreme tension. However, the actual cleat, ie the slider, is equally important, and we swear by these Line Loks. I particularly like them, not just cos they hold pretty well, but because they are really easy to adjust, even under tension. You can even get glow in the dark ones. And I second (or third...) the use of Delta Pegs!
