I'm not sure about a 9 man dome but with ours we lay it upside down on the grass next to the inner, one of us at the front, one at the back, pick up the farthest corners and run whilst lifting letting the wind catch it. It usually does the trick. (although sometimes goes to far and the whole thing follows us right over it! Lol.)
