Well I umm'd and ahh'd all last week about whether or not to go camping and then on Saturday morning the forecast changed and I thought sod it Im off  My first solo trip but with my big tent and met up with one of the other members on here - Breeze. Had a lovely time sitting out in the evening drinking a nice glass or two of wine - was bliddy freezing though. Came back and ordered my new solo camping weekend tent. It was the first time without EHU for me too and found out that I will need a better sleeping bag if I am going to go without hook up again - or take my duvet

I am so glad I went and am watching the forecast this week to see if another miracle happens

I honestly didnt know camping in the rain was so popular until I tried to book a campsite last week for our first trip and they were mostly full, even though the rain was torrential and there was severe weather warnings on the met office website, I was gobsmacked. Anyway we thought if everyone else is mad then we will be mad too. We had to put up a brand new tent in the rain and the instructions turned to mush; the dog had been car sick and then the pump for the air bed didn't work... we still kept optimistic, another camper helped us out and I realised, us campers are like a little community helping each other in adversity.

We loved it because there was no mobiles, intenet, cleaning and other distractions and we just had time for taking life at a slower pace.

Hi Slinger

Got back today and the park is great. We pitched in the lower field by the lake and before the night was out the field had filled up with friendly campers. We would definately go again, everything is clean and the bar/shop prices aren't too bad.

Have a good time.
