Hi all, new here and not a particularly seasoned camper yet but getting there slowly and surely.

I've searched the forums and noticed that a few people use self inflating mats or airbeds on top of campbeds.

A good thing I've found is Vetbed fleece.  It pads and insulates beautifully and it's machine washable and quick to dry.  A 1.5 x 1m mat will split into two to cover the important parts of most campbeds and that size costs about £25 or a lot less on ebay.

I've been enjoying the forum so far as a guest so I'm looking forward to even more as a member

Hi jayess, welcome to UKCS and thankyou for your first post.

I hate camp beds because they have no give in them, does this Vetbed thingy provide some bounce?

Thanks for the welcome.

The Vetbed is 28 - 30 mm of dense fleece material so you get a reasonable amount of give.  Bounce is probably going a bit far for my claims though :-)

I'm hoping that I can do a link.

They also look like they would make a really luxurious rug in the tent, I like the sound of it being non-slip and staying dry on top.

It would be a really lovely mat.  I'd avoid the white though.

It does stay dry on top.  Most spills can be wiped up before they soak in and it dries very quickly after washing.

It's not too bulky to pack and store either.

It's not like me to come up with a top tip

But I'm pleased if I have!

I'm not endorsing the seller on the link I posted, it was just a good photo and description.  It can be bought much cheaper on ebay where you can pick up 5 and 10 metre rolls as well.

It's very clever. Puppies can pee on it and the top stays dry.  My only reservation would be that it's a bit bulky. It's incredibly warm, one of my dogs won't sleep on it as he gets too hot.

And you can get it very cheap late on the last day of any big dog show!
