Sig definately. We used to have a tent without one and took it away for a week. Big problem with ants, and just felt damp and draughty all the time. Now we have tents with Sigs and there is such a difference. Feels so much more cosy and warm in comparison. Although at the end of the day it is down to personal preference and there are people who do prefer tents without them, but I would never go back!
hi scout we are in derby have just been to buxton last w/e got tent last year just cheepie from argos to try camping again stood up to the rain very well but felt very uncomfortable in the high winds so looking at replacement i am prob going to get kyham winnipeg looks like good tent to use for odd w/e outings looking for some other sites in peak to try out if you have any suggestions clover fields we went to was superb toilets showers very clean and owners Jan & Steve great even had small shop at their house stocked with all sorts just incase you forgot to bring with you and delivered fresh milk and daily papers in morning if you wanted them well worth a visit.
No suggestions, I'm afraid. Our famiy life is so busy at the weekends that we never get away just for the weekend and so quick camps to not-so-far-off-places is not really an option for us. As such we tend to camp in Wales which is far enough to feel as though we are getting away but not prohibitively far.
However, there was a thread recently asking for suggested campsites in Derbyshire and several members mentioned their favourite sites. In fact, having just looked, there have been several threads in the UK Caravan and Camp Sites section of the message boards. Try a search for "Derbyshire".
have one large kyham rigidome, and a weekender kyham Santiago for weekends. We put groundsheet under the inner sleeping tents. Don't have bug probs or drafts. The large Kyham we've used in a variety of temps. The Santiago would be drafty but we use it for last minute short stays, wouldn't go if it was torrential.
We're taking the smaller tent to France this year and I'm sure the drafts will be great in August. It is a good, basic, easy to erect tent.
Having said that for camping mainly in the UK, for a weekend or longer, a SIG does look good. Having young kids with a SIG I'd like a nice enclosed porch area to make the leave the muddy shoes and wet coats in,
