We've recently had our first problem booking a site with the Diablo.... We were wanting a weekend away and hubby decided to ring a few sites (didn't want to chance it and just turn up now we're into the school holidays) and called the Red Lion Inn. He mentioned that it was a big tent and as such didn't mind paying extra soo the guy asked how many berths (6) and how many people (2) and then very rudely just said "too big" and put the phone down on him! Now I accept that campsite owners can pick and choose what units they allow...but there's no need to be rude about it is there? Also it seems if we had said that there were 6 people then we'd have been ok, so they do seem to allow big tents, but only if they feel you "deserve" one! Luckily I wasn't that bothered about the site (the one we really wanted was booked up). Maybe he was just in a bad mood
