As Rex has already said, if you are staying on sites catering just for tents and touring caravans, everyone is in the same boat, so to speak, and therefore are more likely to respect others belongings.
It seems to be one of those unspoken rules and etiquette in camping that everyone looks out for each others gear.
(Just like those other little quirks of camping: like chatting in the washing up area to total strangers about the day's weather and smiling as you pass someone going to the toilet and shower block........could this be an idea for a new thread; What are the unspoken rules or wonderful etiquettes peculiar to camping?)
