Hi there,We are going to St Austell (cornwall) for 2 weeks camping in Aug,It's going to be about an 8hr drive with trailer going from Dartford M4/M5 or A303,I would like to leave fri evening get halfway(ish) and stop over nite but need some where with secure parking for trailer.Any suggestions please.
leave at dawn on Saturday morning, it'll be a nice easy drive no traffic, sun behind you, full english breakfast in dorset & lunch in cornwall - compared to friday night motorway madness & the sun in your eyes.
Hi, We live along the coast and have had many hols in Cornwall. Sometimes we have stopped over on the way but we have also done it in one day and we always come straight home without stopping.
Like said leave early. It doesn't take as long as you think as it is motorway all the way into Cornwall. Very boring but a bit quicker.
Just out of interest where are you staing. We had our honeymoon in St Austell and have always wanted to go back. Sadly though with the building of the Eden Project the price of the hotel we stayed at has rocketed so I think a few nights in our tent and a meal at the hotel one night might be the closest we get.
We are also going to St Austell for 2 weeks in August and face a similar journey From Staffordshire though)
We a re going to the wonderful Court Farm and are planning an early start to arrive in Cornwall around lunch time
We normally stop in Wilsthire en route but are reversing this this year.
Hope the weather holds
------------- We only go camping to see what we have forgotten and what we need to get for next time. If only we could remember where we put the list..................
A Review will be posted as soon as we return, going by the brochure and the fact there was only 6 pitches left when we booked in march I am hoping this will be a good one.
