Hi

We only took delivery of our new ROYAL BORDEAUX 6 XL ZG tent last week form OUTDOOR WORLD. We have just pitched it up to (not been able to doearlier due to weather and wet garden), shock horror, there is a hole in the rear of the tent approx 4mm and another mark showing that another is about to go under stress, should we be able to get an exchange straight away or will we have to wait for them to decide what to do, I have phoned them up about it and the girl said the manager is out and will have tocall me back when he returns, we are meant to be going away next Friday. Please help with any comments or suggestions.

Many thanks

Chris

If I were you I would be stood in the shop with it by now demanding my exchange but that might just be me!!  Get some pics of the whole if you can as well, if it is still erected, it must be easier than dragging it out of the bag an trying to find the little devil in the middle of the shop if they ask to see where it is!!

Good luck

So sorry to hear of your plight Chris...i personally would not wait around due to your tight time scale before you go off camping...i would take the tent down and get it straight back to Outdoor World explaining that you need a tent very quickly and that you have rung up about it and you were told to bring it back to the store ASAP for the Manager to sort it all out...( just a tiny white lie ) and i'm a good catholic boy too......and then just do what my wife does and sit down so as they know that you arn't moving till you either get a replacement or a full re-fund...do not let them talk you into them sending it away for re-pair...it's brand new for goodness sake...good luck and please let us all know how you get on Yes ?

regards

Thank you for the replies. Outdoor World have phoned us back and will do a swap. The courier will collect the faulty tent tomorrow andd leave us with a new one. Abig sigh of relief, we were worried that buying from the internet would leave us with £400 short and no tent.

And don't forget to get the replacement tent up ASAP...to make sure it is ok...it's a shame you couldn't keep the courier driver there with a cup of tea and a sandwich whilst you got the thing up...lol....glad you have got it sorted Chris...have a great holiday..

Hi

New tent delivered today as promised to replace the faulty one, have to wait for neighbours now to use their garden to check it out. Hope it doesn't rain before we get the chance to use their garden again. Had to quickly get it out of the packing box (what was left of it) because the box was covered in grease, luckily it has not got through to the bag containing the tent. Just a moan but the carriers don't seem to respect peoples packages, do they?

Chris
