We're off on our first family camping trip this week and its occurred to me how to dry wet coats inside our Montanna 6.  All the poles are external so can't hang them from there.  We've not been able to put up the tent yet so was wondering if there are any loops to rig up an internal washing line. Any advice appreciated!

Hiya,

There are velcro loops going from the floor up to the middle of the tent 'ceiling' for the use of a electric cord, but I am not sure if this would be strong enough to hold your washing. I usally put ours and the kids coats over the back of a chair to dry with a towel underneath to catch drips if they are soaking. If its nice out though I drape them over the car or rig up a washing line from the tent to the car.

Hope you enjoy your first camping trip, we have a Monty 6 too and we used it for the first time last weekend and loved it.

We do the same, drape them over the backs of chairs or over the dog crate.

We have a sun canopy so anything really wet would be left out there on the back of chairs.

You can buy folding clothes airers but my OH would have a fit if I tried to fit even more gear in the trailer

LOL Same here Bibbster, I was looking at a camping rotary in the camping shop lst week and I could see OH's face drop  so we are sticking to the backs of chairs. Actually compared to our last tent out clothes dried really quick in the monty.

We just stick all the wet things over the car seats & backs overnight & hope the sun shines the next day!  Same with towels & wetsuits etc after a day at the beach (feeling hopeful for August).

Same here, just put them on the back of the chairs...we have a heater this year, so if warm airs circulating at night, they might dry quicker....failing that if it's nice, I put them on on the guy ropes...I have a washing line and pegs I got from poundland this year though, so that could go from the tent/car/windbreak if it's nice.

I'm not familiar with the montanna but would you have room to put a clothes rail up?  We bought a porch for our indiana and are taking our clothes rail this time with coat hangers for precisely that reason, also got some of the hanging baskets to put shoes and other bits and bobs in.

Just back from Wales last week in our Monty 6.  Added a couple of coat hangers to our camping list! Lots of places, loops etc to hang coats from - also use the side porch as drying area, but there's only the two of us so plenty of room. Enjoy.

We have the extension for our monty and we rig a washing line up by fastening one end to the corner guy of the tent and the other end to the last guy on the extension (so it runs along the side).
That way you haven't got wet things hanging in the tent and adding to the condensation.

Thanks for your speedy replies...I'll pack a couple of hangers and use the backs of chairs (if I get them in the car!) and inside the car.  All great tips...cheers. You never know we might not need to dry the coats if we get lots of sun hahahahah....
