Hi, We are off to the Vendee in mid August and I'm not sure whether to take our thick sleeping bags (can throw them off if hot but take up lots of room in car) or our buget Argos ones (were cold in these on Cornwall last August, had to buy duvets in Asda!)

What do you think,are we likely to have the odd chilly night?

Whereabouts in the Vendee are you going?

If you are in a coastal town then it does get quite cold at night. Whilst daytimes can be lovely and warm in August, the breeze from the Atlantic, and little cloud cover does mean occasional chilly nights .

If you are going with lightweight bags then I'd recommend packing a blanket with each bag, which means you can at least be warm if it is cold, and can ignore the blanket if it's too warm at night.
