We placed an order for over £1,000 with World of Camping on Sunday just gone.
I contacted them on Monday late pm to see what courier they were going to use to make sure we'd be in on the day. (Spoke to a Female)
They hadn't processed our order but said that they'd process it asap and send an emal confirmation with tracking number fora Euro 48 delivery service.
Tuesday = Nothing?
Wednesday am I phoned them to query the delivery status (Yes Impatient but excited too!) they said that they'd sort out the invoice and arrange collection for that afternoon and that they'd email confirmation. (Spoke to a different Female)
Thursday midday-ish I called them to see if it had been sent as we hadn't received confirmation? Spoke to a Male this time who was really helpful, apologised for not receiving the email confirmation & gave me tracking number over the phone there and then.
Much to my relief it was collected yesterday & left England this am so it should be delivered tomorrow!!!!!!! Yay!!
I guess I was just nervous about spending that sort of money with a site that I hadn't used before? A courtesy email stating that the order was dispatched would have been useful.
I had read on their site that orders placed on a weekend are processed on the monday. I took that as being dispatched on a monday but they said over the phone that the processing can take around 3 days.
I guess I expect the same service as what we give on our website regarding orders especially when the products are stated as 'in stock'
But all in all we're pleased so far with the service, I just hope everything arrives together in 1 piece tomorrow am!!!! We can then go camping in the rain over the weekend!

I've been a huge fan of internet shopping for years, since before broadband - you can save so much money. Other than camping purchases include a range oven, 3 cameras, binoculars, TVs, DVD recorder, much insurance, endless ebay items, laptops, clothes - the list goes on
I must have used every site going for camping - got last 3 tents on t'internet in 2002, 2005 and June this year (Vermont), plus every sort of accessory down to rock pegs.
Apart from a couple of minor skirmishes on Ebay, no problems. However I think I've been lucky because I've never had to return anything ever.
So rather than get loyal, go for the best price - that's what the internet is all about.

We have spent the last 4/5 years camping all summer, every summer and last year my Husband said we'll buy a new tent next year. Plus he has never bought me a Birthday Present or Wedding Anniversary Present so he doesn't have a leg to stand on! lol
Now we work full time on our own business together we decided to sell our 2nd car as we didn't use it anymore. The idea was that we'd put it towards a holiday but we all decided we wanted to do a big camping holiday next year instead of flying somewhere (helping the environment and all that)
We were better off buying & testing everything this year in preperation for it (that was my excuse)
It's suprising how much everything adds up to! Tent, windbreaks, kitchen unit, toilet, airbeds, table, wardrobe, chairs, etc (Ok so the carpet & kids room aren't 'needed' but they looked good)
Plus we're VAT exempt here so we got quite a bit for our money, you should have seen the original order!!
