Firstly, DO NOT use any form of soap product on it, you need to kill the mildew spores with a solution of Miltons sterilising fluid, (or make a 5% solution of hydrogen peroxide. (125ml in 5 litres of water.) then wash it as best you can using warm water, if it needs reproofing after you have tested it by soaking it, there are reproofing agents like Nikwax or Fabsil, good luck
