hi, you'll find a lot of people at park foot with halford tents... Well we did last year, you'll enjoy it but make sure you go on the ullswater steamer... For the tent when i looked at them i'd say they'll be ok as long as the weather stays nice. Enjoy

Hi and welcome :-)
I havent used a Halford tent myself but in general the berths of most tents tend to be on the small side (I dont mean the bedroom size I mean the whole tent), so whilst the 4-man tent you have may be just right for a few nights, it might become cramped for a long stay for 4 of you, especially if you get our usual summer weather... It should help you decide if you like camping though, in which case you could always choose something bigger for future trips. Even in August the nights can get cold, so be prepared with fleece blankets or picnic rugs under your airbeds to keep the chill off. Lots of other posts on this site with good ideas for starting out, checklists of things to take etc - have a look around and make yourself at home.
Hope your first camping trip is the first of many.

Hi irishjojo.
Welcome to UKCS.
In camping, the saying you get what you pay, holds true.
But most tents sold in the UK are up to a certain standard, and will allow you and your family the chance to see if you like camping.
Quite a lot of cheaper light weight tents do not have their seams sealed or well sealed and may leak in heavy rain,if you can erect your tent at home and test it out with a rain storm from the hose pipe. if not make sure you have a tube of seam sealer with you. and it is always wise to carry a cheap lightweight builder tarp in case the rain really gets in then you can always through the tarp over and peg it to the floor to keep you dry until the rain baits.
Good luck and enjoy your camping.
Regards
Rex.
