As Hairywol has said the BBC do seem to change their forecasts quite a lot and generally get them wrong, especially their 5 day one. I would take no notice and just go and enjoy it
Are you a Darlo boy then ? i notice the Quakers badge.
Certainly am! Although currently living with the enemy in sunny Hartlepool.
To report back with regards to the weekend. It got very misty when we were close to the campsite and we had a brief (less than 5 minute) shower as we were moving gear into the tent but other than that it was baking hot all weekend! We spent Saturday in Alton Towers and all came back very tired and very sunburnt.
It was 15 degrees over night and at half past 8 Sunday morning (in the shade of a nearby tree) it was reaching 23 degrees already. When we folded the tent up the groundsheet dried itself almost instantly.
So yeah, all in all a brilliant weekend. Can recommend the Star caravan and camping site near Alton Towers. It's nowhere near as strict as some of the reviews say it is. I would go back again if it weren't for the 3 hour trip! Think we're going somewhere local to relax next time.
