Just come back from a weeks camping at Whitemead Park in the Forest of Dean and think that I have had a camping holiday thats as good as it can get, site superb, weather superb, very happy kids cant wait to book again next year, my only concern will be that i will never experience a week as good as this again and everything else will be second best. Has anyone else experienced camping "heaven" and where did you go and did you repeat it?

Hi ducker,
Really glad to hear you had a good time, We rarely visit the same area twice but every time we pitch our tent we expect, and mostly experience what you have just experienced.
The only thing that can spoil a camping holiday is illness
and inconsiderate campers and manager.
And now you know the best side you are really well and truly hooked
All the best
Rex.

We have just come back from "Vale of Pickering" campsite and it was great. Lovely clean showers, toilets, big park, small but adequate shop, large football/games field. A lovely oz gent who helped my OH set up tent, cold beers and the kids loved our getaway (that was a concern as this was the first time they camped). We would go again but perhaps not yet, got 2 others booked yet.
A bit worried the weather won't be as nice next time as thats what made our camping special. We didn't like packing up, it took ages and we was tired out when we got home. We have also GOT to invest in either a trailer or roof box as our car was packed and we didn't take everything! Glad you had a nice time too

Hi carol.
Go for the Trailer, size at least 4' X 3' and they are good for use at home.

Thanks Rex, will have a look - Oh hang on OH half is wanting me to ask about a suitable tow bar, we have heard of detachable ones or is this not a good idea? A family with a caravan opposite us seemed to have no towbar yet they must have done to tow it.
Duckers, we've just got back from Orchard camping in Suffolk, which has been a fab trip. The children said it was the best campsite they've been to and they want to live there! The weather was glorious, but I feel I'm due as I've camped in some dreadful weather and normally have to put my tent up in the garden to dry it off after every trip.
We have just come back from 10 days at The Inside Park in Dorset, it was fabulous, there was a family who were a little down from us who stayed up talking and laughing til late in the night but even that was nice to fall asleep to. It is a beautiful place with first class facilities. We have no complaints at all :)
Duckers we are going in the caravan TODAY  to whitemead in the forest of dean, will post here when i get back in a fortnight, everyone who has been there thought it is a brilliant campsite. cant wait!!! se ya soon!!
