I Kay
I know what you were saying and yes it is true what you say.
There is members who try to dissuade other from buying a three way fridge they say it is not camping etiquette and you should rough it with cool boxes changing cool packs every day if you remember, buying ice at the supermarket every other day. This is fine when you are testing yourself to see if you will make a camper, and because of this roughing it a lot give up camping, it is fine for a long weekend but if you intend to take up tenting seriously and like a lot of seasoned campers these days we do not use an EHU in the summer we go to a CS and small farm sites with basic amenities no shops just peace and a few like minded campers, and a two week stay here a three way cooler makes camping far more relaxing without the added worry of cool drinks and fresh food.
Technology as not left the camper under canvas behind, why not use it. It really does make a lot of good sense for a family holiday.

Rex.
As for expence £150 is not cheap but in reach of most these days, and you can quite often pick one up on ebay,as for use they are marvelous to keep your drinks cold at BBQ.

Rex thats just what I want from camping! I'm fed up of ehu sites with the bright lights, hairdryers, tv's etc etc.
I'm not worried about the expense of a 3 way fridge because I've been watching a few on ebay & they have a very high second hand price (I even watched a damaged one sell for over a 100 quid) So I see it as an investment (just gotta save up me pocket money now).
I tend to keep our electric coolbox between the tent inner and outer (facing away from the sun path) it means that the ambient temperature is that of outside rather than inside the hot stuffy tent throughout the day. Its one of the benefits of having a dual skinned Utah.
