Hi all - I have just bought a 5 man tent off the net and although the sleeping compartments have built in groundsheets the rest of the floor space does not. Is there anywhere than can provide me with a made to measure G/sheet rather than cutting to size myself?

   cheers

Hi

Sorry - am I right in thinking you didn't get any type of groundsheet for the living area with your tent? What make/model of tent is it?

Hi Baymaster.
After many years of searching for the best ground sheet at a reasonable price I finally found the Flexiliner at pondkeeper.co.uk.
These pond liners are very strong very waterproof tear proof and can be cut to any shape without fraying They will in my opinion out perform any ground sheet on the market and will make the strongest footprint ever.
Check them out.
Regards
Rex.
PS only in Black

The tent is a 'Keyno' family 5 berth - We Had a huge tent a few years ago but had some real bad experiences in high winds so hence something a little smaller and relatively cheap. Cant believe it never came with a groundsheet but thats ebay for you

I hope so - I have just lined my pond with one.

I think they would make a good groundsheet. As rexgrant says they are very flexible and have fibres in them which stop a minor puncture tearing.

Hi

I thought all tents came with some type of groundsheet .

If the tent is a simple shape you could do as Rex says above and get a pond liner to cut to size. I would cut it to go under the bedrooms as well even though they have their own groundsheets. Our last tent had a flat groundsheet that only covered the living area and we found the bedrooms quite cold as they were directly on the grass. Once we had bought a cheap tarp from b&q to go under them it made a big difference.

If you don't want to go down the cut yourself route then most camping shops now sell footprint groundsheets to go under tents that have a SIG. If you have the measurements of your tent you could look for one with the same measurements and buy the footprint which should fit. Sorry I don't know of anywhere that does made to measure groundsheets

Hope you find a suitable solution

Thanks for all the advice....I think the tent is a little obscure to buy an 'off the shelf' footprint so looks like i will have to do a DIY job
