Ooh well I have a large stout crate I have packed most of the food goods into, and those collapsible £1.60 crates from wilko's are a handy thing to have! I've got a separate table for the stove this year so I will have a corner in the tent for kitchenalia

- yes it is heavy, but seeing as I can lift it - it can't be any heavier than for example an extra passenger OR our bicycles which we took last year but we are leaving at home this year. So there shouldn't be a vast extra amount of fuel used to carry it down, if any, as i plan to drive at a steady 50mph instead of 90mph like last year

Years ago when I first started camping I couldnt afford a camping kitchen but hated having the gas stove and food on the floor. I bought one of those mini greenhouse things, its 3 wire shelves with a plastic zip up cover.

It was about a tenner at the time but I still use it to this day. I stand the stove on top and all the food on the lower shelves and stand it outside the tent. I get more room indoors that way and it took away the worry of accidents inside the tent when my kids were small. The waterproof 'greenhouse' zips up at night keeping everything dry. It was the best tenner Ive ever spent and it all colapses down flat after use.

Of course I can handle it...I have children

What about something like this. Looks like they pack flat for when not in use. You will probably find cheaper versions in local pound shops etc.

Edited to say sorry did not read OP properly!!!!! Or I would have seen that you do not want stack boxes!

The school holidays are obviously a bigger affect on me than I thought!
