Have just bought a Vango Vista 800 and have been looking at some reviews, one of the two reviews on this site mentions a 'Sig', as a return to camping, from years ago exeperience I dont know what a 'Sig' is. Can anyone explain, do I need one, do I not need one, is it painful ......... !!!
Sewn In Groundsheet - as opposed to Zipped in Groundsheet, or toggled groundsheet etc etc. Means that there are no gaps at all between your groundsheet and your tent.
------------- Hotels Suck. Villas are great but I can't take my Cadac on the plane....
Sewn in ground sheet. Fantastic invention....no unwelcome visitors, no drafts or leaking in heavy rain...Once you have had one you will never look back!
------------- Time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time.
However I would still take another groundsheet[We purchased 2 Cheap B&Q Tarpaulins] to put under the SIG.
That way you have double protection from dampness and the SIG Remains dry and clean!
Johnny.
------------- A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn.
I would just say that it isn't the be all and end all and it is perfectly possible to have a tent which doesn't leak, isn't drafty and isn't invaded by plagues of locusts without having a SIG!
Just back from Lime Tree Park Buxton, wet when we arrived and at some point each day/night we were there, so pleased to have a SIG. Good site at Lime Tree Park, see my camp site review of it.
