Just returned from a weekend trip where we used our Montana 6 extension for the first time.
We had no problems with fitting except for the two gray straps that run along the ground at the front and rear of the extension atached to the pin and loop poles.
I could see no way of taking out the slack and just seemed a trip hazard for the kids.A neighbour with 20 years camping experience could not work out either.
I know that many on here have this extension ,can anybody help please ?
Hi ,thanks for reply. At least 25% of the straps were slack. The poles were the same distance apart as the tent.I dont think I could have tensioned by moving the poles. It is like the straps are way to long.I thought you would have been able to tension with a buckle, but no.
Oh I thought on first reading they were too tight, iif you look at the pics in my gallery you should be able to see mine. I am a bit lost to be honest ours have always been on the tight side.
Thanks again, was set up just like yours, had lower panels matching the tent. We were on the coast and was quite breezy but no issues with shape but was using Deltas. Am going to back to the shop this week and seek advice,am probably doing something thick but cant work out what.
Ours aren't particularly tight either and anyone wearing flip flops seem to catch them as they pass. Last time we camped I unclipped them as there was very little wind. Maybe had the wind picked up I'd have fastened them again.
Just looked at later photos, thats how I thought they should look but for some reason mine look like they are about 25% too long.Great photos by the way.
We bought the extension but haven't used it yet and I wondered how it attaches to the main tent.

We don't seem to have any prob;ems with ours although we do use a couple of spare tent pegs to peg the straps down to the floor to stop us tripping over them. Sorry I couldn't help more!
Peggybabcot, They attach by two straps over that go over the top of the tent and clip onto the second pole back (hope that makes sense?)

I've just used my extention for the last week for the first time. I found that firstly it is easier to attatch the extenion to the tent before inserting the roof and side poles. Also with the issue of slack ground straps, there is some flexibility in the poles to move them slightly more apart before pegging down.
