This has been mentioned before but couldnt find the thread.
We have just got back from a week away and we went with a normal cool box and about 8 ice packs. We would put 2 in the supplied freezer, that was if we could squeeze them in past other peoples cans of lager, frozen food, and jars of mayo! Going back the next morning we find that ours have gone even though they are clearly marked.
In this situation you have no choice but to take somebody elses too! This isnt a bad thing in itself until the last people start to leave the campsite and find that somebody else has actually gone away with more than they arrived with. However many we put in we took the same amount back to our tent.
This then became a problem because people were putting in defrosted ones and taking already frozen ones at the same time. We went to get ours back only to find that very few, if any, were actually frozen.
In desperation we went out and bought an EHU and an electric coolbox, this has been one of the best buys ever. No more ice packs and messing about at freezers
