so this year i booked to go to france.

we have just returned. i was reluctant due to the fuel increase but it was lovely and the weather was perfect. i know you dont want to here that

but you can go to france quite cheap if you look for cheap crossing and use a municipal camp site 9 euros a night. they dont have pools on them but are very central and are always near to pools and local attractions.

more and more people are going across to france and and it is only for the weather.

we used to have a tent so i do know how you feel.

Had two weeks in France at the beginning of July.
Not cheap and we only got 2 or 3 dry days - granted we only went as far as southern Brittany, but even so!
Unfortunately if you camp or caravan you pays your money and takes your chance with the weather!

Hi Tracey - so sorry  to hear that you are having a very wet time in Holywell Bay - we visit cornwall very often  (my mum lives in St Agnes - you may have driven through it as its not far away) I frequently have whole wet weeks and feel so sorry for people on their holidays there. Not sure if you are still there - but if you are and you haven't been have you tried the Watering Hole on Perranporth beach - it does good food and beer, allows dogs inside and since it is literally on the sand you can relax while your son enjoys being at the beach. It is our sons' favourite place ever especially when its not really sunny and overcrowded - and I have very fond memories too as I grew up in the area - even some of some sunny days!  Hope you have a better end to your holidays Cheers Emma

Bit of a mixed day today, poured down this morning so we decided to head off in the car, down to lands end, it looked brighter out that way!  Got there, they charged us £3 to park in a muddy field and we couldn't see a thing as it was very misty. Had a walk round, took a few pics and then headed off.  Went through Porthleven, nice little place, took some photos of the harbour.  Then we found a nice little park with a lovely boating lake, and some beautiful swans and their babies to photograph so that kept me happy for a while.  By the time we got back up the coast it was lovely, so we went to Perranporth, had a walk round the shops, took Bailey on the beach and took a Chinese back to the site with us.  All in all a better day, started off poorly, and must admit I was starting to get a bit bad tempered, but it ended up quite nicely.

emmwall, we actually passed the watering hole tonight, it looks a very nice place.

One thing i have noticed is that people seem to be getting increasingly tetchy, some arguements in tents round us lastnight and today watching people in the car park at Perranporth - think the weather is getting to everyone.

We cancelled our trip away today because I really didn't fancy a whole week in the tent with 2 wet dogs. Had a trip to the hairdressers to cheer myself up and came back feeling very glam!  Took the dogs to the park with Andy at tea time and half way round the heavens opened. We were 20 minutes from the car and only wearing jeans and t shirt. By the time we got back to the car we were both soaked through to the underwear, my hair was ruined and my t shirt was transparent, giving a right eyefull to anyone who was lucky..or unlucky enough to be caught out too.
