I've camped on and off all my life, started off in the early 70's camping in Tenby, shell island and the like in good old canvas tents then the lure of cheap package holidays grabbed my parents and they were hooked on hotels. 

Then in my teens my mates and me went on an outward bound week with school part of which was camping and from then on we did D of E, more camping and we just spent some of the  summer holidays walking and camping for a couple of years. 

Then got myself a boyfriend and we decided to buy a caravan as him being a farmer we could dash off somewhere for the odd couple of days if the weather was too bad for silage / hay / straw / potatoes etc and his parents could spare him.

We had a couple of years running round in that then I went to uni, and we bought a house, caravan got sold as his mum was fed up of seeing it and we were busy with the house, getting my qualifications, getting married etc.

Won a weekend in a luxury hotel courtesy of Bells Whisky in 1995 and we decided to make a weeks holiday of it by buying a tent in Inverness, used it that once then came the kids and it spent the next 9 years in a cupboard.  

Roll forward to 2004, 2 kids one 10 year wedding anniversary coming up and I said lets go camping on our own for the weekend for our anniversary, out comes the old 2 man tent, "the kids would love this" says I and the rest is history, the wonder of the internet and this website has had me hooked since!  The kids do love it, son's inherited the old 2 man tent for his own, we're now the proud owners of 5 tents for any eventualliyt, enough camping stuff to start a shop and a roofbox.
