The only shopping I like is looking at tents and camping equipment. I have 4 tents and spend money on stuff the way some women spend on shoes and handbags :-)

I do a fair bit of travelling up and down the country for work, and of course get about quite a bit camping.

So, where are the best camping shops for me to explore...? (Not, of course, that I need the encouragement!)

Alison

I quite like Yeomans Outdoors, have found them very helpful, but not that local to me.

I like Gelert outdoorworld in porthmadog not always got everything you want but I love it there and I also like going to Welshpool Coed-y-Dinas they don't have much choice but they do have tents on show and some thing you might THINK you might need for camping but at Coed-y-Dinas they sell other things aswell as camping stuff and they have a lovely resturaunt would highly recommend their homemade quiche's and cakes. And they also sell pet stuff and you can have a look at all the lovelt bunnies and g/pigs etc etc sometimes they have a bird of prey flying display.

I had my bunny fluffy put to sleep last week

That sounds like a good one! I like the idea of a coffee shop and pyo - somewhere I could stay all day :-)

We have a couple of Yeomans Stores near here, but I can't say I think they are anything to write home about and they can be pricey.

It just strikes me that typically the selection doesn't seem that great. I wonder if it's anything to do with the amount of space needed to do a good range of products justice? Of course there are lots of great online retailers, but you can't beat having a good fondle of the goods before you buy, can you !
