Just been reading the comments from all you jolly campers and the main topic seems to be rain..... and associated lousy weather that we are having right now. My question is, what has happened to the global warming we were promised, we have just had to cut short by four days our holiday in Cornwall, so please tell me, when is this global warming going to hit Britain ?????
Well it is hot and humid here in Leicester (infact the sun has just come out again). It seems to me the weather has become more tropical, it has been very warm for quite a while now all be it mixed with sharp showers. Or maybe that is just here in the Central area?
This probably IS global warming UK style - in some places it means hotter and drier, like Africa where they need the opposite, for us it is more rain, humidity and flooding but not necessarily much warmer, depending on what happens to the gulf stream.

Yep - that's the way our summers are going to go - a bit hotter, but a lot wetter
------------- It's easier to walk down a hill than to climb a mountain, but the view from the top is better!
Only an earthquake will keep me home this weekend. I love to sit under the front canopy when it's teeming down, cool glass of gin and lime in hand. Another advantage is rain keeps the fairweather campers home and sites very unlikely to be full.
we came back from newquay on saturday and did really well. we had 11 days of wall to wall sunshine, then 2 cloudy days and 2 rainy days. looked like we picked the summer!
just had look north on and york is having flash floods at the moment. parts of the city are closed due to flooded roads and stuck traffic. the drains cant take the rain.
we go away again in the tent next week end to trentfield farm, just hope it picks up again for then as its our last camping trip of the year unfortunately
Hi. An off to the lakes on 16th Aug for a week. Anyone now what the weather is like there? Has anyone stayed at Footlane Farm? Any comments appreciated. Should i get delta pegs for the vango orchy 600? Cheers.

Like Safeway 56 I too like sitting in my tent when it`s raining, and a glass of something stronger than Tizer in my hand, but right now it is supposed to be summer, we are in the deadly grip of global warming according to G Brown and co. Who incidently are hitting us with GREEN taxes, so where the hell is the Mediterranean weather we are supposed to be getting.
We're off to Kendal on Monday, so some nice weather would be much appreciated. Last year it rained everytime we went away. I don't even mind if it rains at night - but at some sunshine would be nice. Not asking for a scorcher, just some nice warm weather.
We're going camping monday rain or shine I'm deffinately going whether OH wants to or not I'll drag him out of bed at 5 in the morning I NEED A HOLIDAY if I get webbed feet so be IT. Anyway been raining all day dreary but in Aberystwyth which 20miles south of me was a lovely day and so it was in Barmouth
I am off on Friday and hoping to see the sun. Forecast says wet - why am I not shocked or even dissapointed any more!
Have packed wellies and cagouls, heater for tent (and to help dry out). Taken an extra groundsheet to help keep the living area dry. Not botherd with sun hats or sun cream. If we get a fluke hot sunny day I will splash out on new!
