Well being as you have EHU which is being paid for, I have an electric oven/grill.
It cost £19.99 from Aldi and is great. It's not huge but copes well with ready meal type of things. The part baked bread rolls/croissants are easily done and smell wonderful wafting across the site!!
Keep it in the utility tent on a fold out table with shelves (JR camping if you have one nearby).
Next to that (it's a long table) I have my George Forman grill - that's electric too!
Don't spend much on gas
I used the same arrangement in our caravan awning when we had one.
And Rex, it was a tent with a SIG
Last year a site owner tried to fit a group of us in 6 tents into 5 pitches by saying we could all 'squash up' I was outraged, he seemed totally unconcerned when I mentioned a fire risk, so I am glad you agree with me, makes me feel less fussy.

Hi Nicky.
A kitchen tent is the best and most comfortable way of cooking out side your main tent,
The next in my opinion is the 50" or 60" fishing brolly
Brought down over a wooden poled windbreaker knocked in the shape and size of half the brolly,about 3 additional poles makes it a better shape and 4 Clingon ready in case the wind comes up.I have put a photo of what I use on basic short stays, top picture in my gallery.

The trouble is most local government rules, on tent siteing, say that a site owner can pitch up to five tents 2 meters apart if they are known to each other, and three meters if they are strangers but the sixth tent
must be six meters away.
It is only good sites that stick to the six meter rule,
The sooner the local government dept wakes up to the danger they may change the ruling.

you could buy a cheap microwave with grill, if you have access to electric, you can even use it to boil water.

Use electric if possible or But a fishing brolly , this is what is use & find this ok, also better that a 15.00 pond brolley went up rather than your tent
