We got back yesterday from camping for a week at a festival in Somerset. I think everywhere probably had rather wet weather, but our tent & loads of others were totally flooded out on tuesday. The water in the tent came almost to the top of our wellies.
It was the rising water that caused the flood; it just swept through the doors & up through the groundsheet in about 20 minutes. We had loads of help from other campers to move the tents to drier land, but is there anything we could have done to prevent it happening? We didn't have a lot of choice where to pitch & had no idea that the area we were told to pitch would become a swamp.
Thanks.
