Were off to tenby on Fri and it's sun and cloud for nearlt the whole weekend apart from 1 day ukweather.com.

Just checked again and we'll have showers for the whole weekendThis morning it was sun for most of the weekend!! Never mind were still going as long as the field isn't flooded that is!!!

Even in the Lakes is doesn't rain permanently!  Hopefully there will be a few breaks & it could even be perfect sunshine the whole time, who knows!

Walking around Keswick is good no matter what the weather - you can always go to Whinlatter or Grizedale for a bit of shelter.  Then don't forget to reward yourself with a nice pint later.

p.s. We're off to Cornwall next week & will take lots of changes of clothes just in case it stays like this!

this is the weather for where i'm going from 17th August until the bank holiday monday (hopefully!!)

To be honest, as long  as were away from home for a few days, i'm not really fussed about the weather ,but sun shine would be a bonus!

Yogga - we have just come back from 12 wet days in Ireland, and our new Orchy 600 was well up to the job - would especially recommend having the separate footpritn groundsheet with it. We were still going strong when others had to quit as we were nice and water-tight with the full SIG. It stood up to some very high winds too.  I shall be loading a pic onto our profile shortly.

As for the Lake District, we stayed by Ullswater some years ago and found the Rheged Centre near Penrith was worth a visit -especially the large British food deli, with fruit wines, organic bacon, and other posh local nosh . It is a nice shopping centre and also has events on; we saw the Irish band Lughnasa there one evening - brill!

We are also supposed to be going to Keswick on Monday. Still haven't made up our minds whether to go or not. Weather changes from one day to the next on Metcheck. Think we will decide on Friday. Hope it isn't too bad as really been looking forward to it but it's a long drive if the weather is c**p.

We stayed at Keswick in June, third time in two years and it has rained every time but we still found plenty to do.  When it does get out nice it can be very warm.

We stayed on the site right on Derwentwater and had a lucky escape.  The part we usually stay on was very wet and windy when we arrived so we camped on a different part of the site where it was more sheltered, during the night they had a flood warning and next morning the part where we would have been was under two foot of water so we were really pleased that we had decided to pitch elsewhere.

You will still enjoy whatever the weather.

Hi Hall68. I have rung the campsite today and can report its looking bleak. I am not willing to drive all that way for those conditions. Sadly, we have decided not to go. The lakes  will always ne there, but the cost of petrol and weather don't go. Goodluck.

Am now looking for a caravan rental somwhere. Anyone who knows of any please let me know. Need a break.Thanks

It's close to the town so easily walkable for eating or drinking, 2 parks nearby, lake, plenty of shops and easily accessible onto main roads to visit other parts of The Lakes.  There are alos plenty of buses or walks if you don't fancy taking the car when you go out.
