Hi Andy, we were at Wolds Way 2 weeks ago. It's a lovely site and I don't think you will have to worry about the site getting waterlogged as its really high up and very stony ground, seems to drain well. Make sure to take lots of rock pegs as you will need them up there.

We were lucky and had sun for the first 3 days and then torrential rain the morning we were packing up. Managed to get the tent down in a lull ! The only thing there I would worry about is the wind. It gets more that it's fair share of that being up on the hill. Just peg out firmly and you should be fine.

The staff are great and if you need anything just ask them. Great service, great site. Enjoy your trip ;D

Regarding the pegs, Carol at the site has already mentioned they sell some long steel pegs in packs of 4 for £2, I assume they're suitable for that site seeing as they sell them. I was planning on buying some of theirs when we arrive, too late to get deltas now (although from what you've said I'm not sure Deltas would be suitable?)

don't let me put you (or anybody) off delta pegs. Just check them regularly as they are only as good as the people who hammer them in :(

i love my rock pegs that i bought in the new forest :)

if you are camping on a hill, look at this thread for some more thoughts!

happy holiday.

Hi again

When I say camping on a hill, the site is on top of the hill with lovely flat pitches so no worries about slopes. Yes they do sell pegs there so don't worry too much if you havent got any with you. The ground is soft for the first 2 inches or so then you hit the rocky parts. If it doesn't go in first time just move the position a bit till you find an easier spot.

Just go and I'm sure you will have a lovely time. We had a great time and the views are fab !
