If I make my final decision tomorrow based on either the BBC, Met Office, metcheck or weather.co.uk I shall cancel our 2 week jaunt to Cornwall.
However, if I look on accuweather.com the picture for the next 15 days isn't so bad.
We have also received a text from friends who are in Hayle at the moment and due to spend a further week there, and although not great have said that the days (even having been on the beach today) have not been too bad with rain in the evenings!!
Now even more confused. Perhaps I should say sod it and go anyway?
I agree with your last comment......sod it and go anyway, the weather seems to be clearing a bit and some sun will come out sometimes. We got a tan in n yorks last week despite the forcast prior saying constant rain. Just pack your wellys and flip flops!
We're on the verge of deciding whether to cancel our week in Cornwall too, its something i've never ever considered doing before, but its the wind thats putting me off rather than the rain. Met office is predicting winds from 25-30mph, with gusts up to 49mph on monday.
The thought of travelling near on 400 miles to be greeted by gale force winds and yet more rain makes me feel ill. I just don't know what to do.
If we had booked somewhere closer to home we would have just gone and made the most of it, but its an awful long way to go if its a disaster.
We use metcheck, and the met office websites usually.
I always check the BBC weather site. If the forecast isnt to my liking I check the met office I keep going till I either find a forecast I like the sound of, or I think sod it we'll chance our arm and go anyway.
Dont forget your wellies and kags and most of all your sense of humour! Oh and a bikini just incase
Good old unpredictable British weather.
------------- Of course I can handle it...I have children
YRREG, just has a look at what you sent, it shows everywhere covered in cloud, yet i'm sat here in North Devon not a cloud in the sky and the sunshine is lovely and hot ,so i'd advise people not to go by these 2 sites.
------------- KIM.
2013 Season.
Upgraded from a TT to a caravan.
Loving it!
Roll on summer :-)
Going away myself today for 10 nights to the lakes. When mentioning that we will probably get rain, my friend said "there isn't any bad weather, just bad clothes choice!!!!!"
Can I suggest that you pack for both good and bad and go for it!!! I'm ere in sunny Cornwall (well today anyway!!) and yesterday weren't too bad either. I live on the south coast, and work on the north coast, I can leave for work and its sunny and get to work and its raining, so it changes so quickly here. Come on down and enjoy x You can't odds the weather anywhere you are just think, mmmm away from the normal come rain or shine and keep on
Well i think they play safe & say it will rain sometime in the day , then if it does they are right & if you get no rain they are happy, just go & enjoy
Trailer and top box loaded. Just the car to fill up tomorrow morning.
Hope to be in Cornwall by early afternoon, which if the forecast this morning was correct should be clear of tomorrow's predicted rain.
Rang campsite owner this morning and because the grass is laid over sand it has been draining well and standing up admirably to this very wet weather. This is also helped by it being a very small site with only a few large pitches and they have been managing the amount of traffic movements on and off the site which is keeping it in reasonable nick.
So fingers crossed for a slightly more settled period of weather.
