There are 2 chip shops but both close pretty early (9pm is the latest)

Loads of cafes though

Bude is pretty laid back, I'm sure your stuff will be fine

You could probably leave the trailer at the camp site anyway (is it Widemouth Bay Caravan park or Budemeadows?) - They're both quite large

While your down there visit Wooda Camping & Caravan park - much nicer than the rest of them - it's on the other side of town though and the beach you are going to is better for the kids

We stayed at sandymouth bay near bude at the beginning of the summer holidays and although their literature said 4pm i called them and we were able to get on from 12pm.

We stayed a few years back on the site opposite. It is quite a walk to Bude but worth going to as it has some lovely shops and places to eat. There is a big leisure centre just outside Bude next to the Morrisons. If all else fails and the weather is bad you can always go swimming for a couple of hours. Although whether you will feel like putting a tent up after is another thing.

Also check out Crackington Haven down the road. Best cream Teas around. Last time we went was the day before the Boscastle flooding and the lovely tea shop got ruined but I am sure they have rebuilt by now.
