Er, not sure I understand your question!!! Combine harvester harvesting in the field behind until the early hours, dogs in kennels barking all night and peacocks on site cooing in the early hours!!!  Would that not disturb you?!!!!
I too wouldn't mind the noise of a combine harvester but not at night!!!!

We have got a rant also, just come home from a week in Whitehill Park, Paignton,on the day we arrived there must have been a meeting of Subaru owners we counted 20 u can imagine the sound of all their big bore exhausts, a few of them stayed for the whole week which i suppose by then we blocked the noise out.Our other neighbour carried on playing loud music one night and then decided to sing along until 1.35am we did complain this time. We all enjoy a good laugh and good music but there is a limit to the time and the comfort of your surrounding neighbours.Sorry to have a moan.(

Hi
As Bernie's post stated,we are the ones who go to the country side, and we must accept the way of life there.
But we don't have to accept what Deb had from those unruly campers. The way to get it stopped and I have not used this way myself but was recommended By Val_scott is to go get the farmer or manager out of bed to stop this nonsense even if it means the offending campers are asked to leave, and if the management is not on site 999 I am told works quite well.
Regards
Rex.

Join the C&CC.Gates locked at 11pm and an all quiet rule after that time. Otherwise the HSM has the power to throw them off. Obviously the all quiet rules don't apply to the wildlife and there are not too many combine harvesters around at that time.

Peacocks and combine harvesters are part of country life.  If there is rain forecast then the combines have to work through the night in order to get the harvest in, otherwise the farmer will face the huge cost of grain drying plus a lower price for grain with a high moisture content.

All part of camping in the country at harvest time, and complaining about it is a bit like complainingn about the dawn chorus or a cockerel crowing!

hiya all. looks like we had a lucky escape this weekend. originally wanted to go to sherwood forest on a return visit.  but were fully booked up for ehu. so went to trentfield farm instead. where we had a fantastic weekend. so peaceful and not full so we had loads of room. the only noise we had was the combine harvester. but knowing what farmers go through when their corn cant be cut, because of the weather, we were happy with the sound and it beats drunken noisy yobs. it is after all part of the country side and a very welcome sound. there was also a large barge went past about 11.30, but then again im at the side of the river in the middle of the counrtyside. my idea of heaven.

We were at Henley/Lee valley recently and the buzz of the traffic didn't bother us, nor did the aeroplanes circling overhead. We are of course Londoners!!We were all awakened by a loud owl at Henley but this made us all laugh, especially our little girl. It just takes a level of tolerance and adaptation.
What we really struggled with on the first night at Bay View in Sussex was the sound of the sea!! We were so close to the beach and we were simply not accustomed to it but by the second night it lulled we three to sleep.
The issue that normally keeps you awake and fuming in the wee small hours is the lack of consideration from other noisy (usually drunken) campers and this unfortunately appears to happen more frequently.

just remembered what the information book from trentfield park said, something along the lines of  "if inconsiderate noise from unruly campers in the night, ring the site phone, or go to the house whilst its going on,dont wait till morning to complain about it, its too late then!" cant remember the exact wording but it made me smile and felt very secure knowing i had someone just a phonecall away as ive had some spoilt nights elsewhere in the past.

we came accross a couple at wood nook near skipton. pitched tent at 9pm went on the lash, and by morning the rest of us felt like we knew them personally. someone complained loudly at 1.45am, but they only kept quiet for a few minutes then started again. my kids were up nice and early tho!!

Thanks for all your comments guys.  I understand camping in the country comes with its noises - which I have said above that I quite like them - otherwise I wouldnt be a camper would I and enjoy spending nights under canvas?!   I think because I was disturbed by the loud ignorant campers, therefore awake all night, therefore heard all the other noises which I otherwise wouldnt normally have heard.
