Well we decided to come on our first trip and headed to Cornwall on saturday. Arrived in torrential rain and what seemed like gale force winds. It took me and the kids over 2 hours to put the tent up as the tent wanted to be a kite. Since then, the weather's not changed much. The tent is being constantly buffeted about by the wind and the campsite is knee deep in mud. The family next door to us have been camping for years and say that this is the worst weather they've ever had. Not sure what to do. I'm terrified that the tent is going to get damaged and that the weather isn't going to improve. Don't think it's put me off camping again, but my daughter might think differently. Any tips on how to survive strong winds? I'm just so glad i invested in the steel deltas, they've been worth their weight in gold so far.

Hi bladesfan

We had horrendous windy and wet weather last year in Devon and Cornwall. We were in a camper but the awning could not stand up to the wind and we had to take it down. Hope it improves for you and can only hope you get a bit of good weather in the next day or so.
