Can anyone suggest a canopy or tarp that I can use with my Vango Beta 450?

         Thanks in advance

TC and a 4M x3M TC
They come from Germany and will take about 4 weeks to arrive from this supplier.but he is the cheapest.
Go HEREThe price you see is the price you pay.

The Vango canopies would be too tall for a Beta 450.

The Quecha tarps from Decathlon would be a good size, but they are like rocking horse poo to get hold of unless you want to pay a bomb on E-bay.

I got an Aldi Tarp when they had them in about 4 weeks ago - some branches may have them left. It's been brilliant used with my Combi. Big enough to go over your Beta one end and give you a big porch at the other. Comes with 4 poles and can be used in many diffrent configurations.

Another idea would be to get an ex-Army Basha (search on E-bay) and a couple of canopy poles.

Hi Ian ,

I would agree with Caz the Quecha tarps are spot on from Decathlon but i would say that 5 weeks ago i got one no problem from Decathlon at Stockport, loads on the shelf.

We used ours this year on holiday and it was great ,  protected us from rain and kept the sun of the kids during meal times etc. They are also portable i.e put em were you want ,whereas a canopy probably attaches to the tent so always goes in thst position.

Tarps for me all the time

Happy hunting   Dave

I like tarps too - see my pix.

Canopies seem overpriced and don't offer that much cover, plus a tarp is multi-functional. Traps also offer headroom for safe cooking

Have just splashed out on a newbie from ebay - will test & report

Hi Craig & welcome to the forum

The Quecha tarps come complete with poles. Gazebo's can cause damage to tents & cars if they get lifted by strong winds, so I assume that's why some sites ban them.

Hi Craig,

You can buy 2m Outwell poles from here, tenner a pair:

http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-1428744-10475506?url=http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk/acatalog/Outwell_Upright_Poles_200.html

along with extra guys and pegs (don't skimp on pegs). I also use the poles that came with tents past and present.

Campsites I've been to that don't allow gazebos never bat an eye when I put my tarp up; in fact I've never even been asked for an awning surcharge.

We have a Weschel Tarp we gor from OutdoorGB on line a few years ago. It is incredibly light and tough and with an assortment of poles (some we already has as porch poles on other tents, others we have picked up - Hi-Gear do adjustable ones whci hare particularly useful). It is extremely versatile and we can use it with whatever tent we are using.

See pics of it in our profile - nearly taking off from over our Orchy 600, on a windy headland in the Antrim Coast!
