We are at this moment drying out our tent in the garden after packing up in the rain yesterday. We have noticed a tube of seam sealer in the repair pack and wondered where exactly do you put this (surely not on every single seam ??) inside or out etc .?? any advice and help welcomed. Thanks

I would only use if seams leak,others may advise differently.

If it aint broke, dont fix it.

If your seams do leak, then the sealer is required.

It hasn't leaked yet (after 2 trips with heavy rain) but we wondered whether we should put some on to protect it as the tent grows older (aaah). I understand the "if it aint broke don't fix it" but am I not caring for the tent if I don't put sealer on ?

They are sealed at factory but sometimes bits get missed, hence the tube of sealer in bag, I would just go with the if it aint broke then leave it motto lol

just be grateful your monty doesnt leak as many do lol

 Most manufactorers advise you seam seal all seams before your first camping trip. I go along with everyone else, only use your seam sealer if you have a leaky seam. Also seam seal on the inside of your tent. We seam sealed a small tent on the outside once and the sun turned the sealer white . So we went round with a lovely burgandy tent with white splodgy marks all over the seams.

We used it on the seams where the inner tents go before we used the tent.Just thought that if it had leaked then we would have had to remove the inners.Remember always seal the seams from the inside.
