Just back from a camping weekend in the Trossachs. Saw the oddest thing, we were both a bit slack jawed. The caravan opposite had pitched one of those gazebos with the see through sides instead of an awning. Once it got dark we noticed flames (at times about a foot high) inside said gazebo, on further investigation (quick loo trip) it was discovered they had a wee fire going in there (disbelief and loo trip by OH) And oh yes an nice open fire OH came back asking how much water we had inside the tent just in case. We weren't on midgie medication until the next day so weren't having visions.
I am a very happy camper with my new Vango Oregon though as it didn't leak, didn't even think about leaking. Thanks to the comments on the tent reiviews in helping decide which to plunk for. Complete with carpet and dare I say a footprint ground sheet. Didn't pitch where the last tent had been and grass looked beautifully green once tent was down. OH is taking the sieve like Aldi job back today.
