After camping last weekend i noticed the small pole, just outside the bedroom, on the Vango Venture 500 had worn a hole through the outter tent. I think a constant breeze was pulling the material over the pole.

Has anybody any ideas on how to repair the hole, its located right above the porch  near the bedroom entrance so obviously any rain will make a mess of the tent.

Thank you in advance for your help

We had a 6" rip in our tent last weekend surrounded by claw marks!!!, looks like an animal had tried to join us in the night, I used tenacious tape on it and it seems very strong and waterproof.

Hi cassidyuk
The best way is to have a patch sown on to the hole and the sowing taped. The best temporary repair is with Tenacious
Repair Precut Patches.(If the hole is small couple of mm Maximum or best to phone Needle sports and ask their advice on the hole size) then you can use McNett Seam grip with the patch for a permanent repair. You can read the information on the patch write up.
Go HEAR
Hope this helps
Rex

forgot to mention also one of the poles was split right at the end where it inserts into the ferrel. Got a feeling it was probably like this from new as it could not be wind damage because it covered by the ferrel when the tent is put up.

I have emailed vango but have heard nothing as of yet

Seamgrip is very good. Sew the tear up first and then put Seamgrip inside and out.

Hi cassidyuk.
For that size hole follow oldbluefoxes advice.
You can get patch kits here to match the tent and then seal the new seams and sowing with the seam grip

HERE

Good luck
Rex.
