Does anyone have any good ideas about how to find the location of a puncture in a double airbed? I have tried putting it in a paddling pool and did not find the hole and just ended up getting very wet.
Are you sure it's a puncture? Does the bed only go down over night?. We had a problem where the bed stayed up all day but went totally flat overnight. The problem was a leaky valve/seam that only leaked when the two of us laid on the bed, thus placing extra pressure on the valve and seams. We've also had an air bed that kept getting puntures only at the seams and eventually looked like a patch work. When we bought a new air bed halfway through our 2 week holiday (Coleman Comfort) the shop assistant told us not to pump the air bed up fully hard. It should still feel a little soft when pressed with your hands but hard enough to keep you off the ground if that sounds sense. The Coleman has valves which are advertised as guaranteed not to leak because they have a double seal system. I think the Camping Gaz bed has a similar system. The Coleman was left fairly soft but still kept us off the ground and remained at the same pressure for the last week of our holiday. Never had to pump it up again. With our old bed which was only just over a year old we had to pump it up every night for the first week. That's when we got cheesed off (to be polite) and bought the Coleman.
Got the same problem with a Highgear self inflating double mattress today. I filled it with about 10gal of water, wiped it dry and then went round it pressing the material.I found a minute slit under the battery holder,so now I have got to find a repair kit.We have had this mattress 4 years, besides camping in UK it spent 8 weeks treking across America, being inflated and deflated almost every day.
