Just been on our first camping trip to Mill Farm, Bridgewater. Had a fab time. We had borrowed a tent and now bought our own tent, Suncamp Pathfinder. We have put it up in the garden and its lovelly. We are hoping to go this weekend to Lower Lacon Wem Shropshire. Was just wondering if when you buy a new tent are you supposed to waterproof it before using it? Because we are new to all this camping stuff . Can't wait to use my new tent, happy camping everyone.

No, as far as I am aware and from past experience, it comes fully waterproofed and if you experience any leaks within the first 12 months or so (that is within reasonable use!) then you should return it because there is likely to be a fault with the seams etc. You will normally get a couple of years out of it before it will need re-proofing - depending on the weather  - so get out there and enjoy it! Lets hope the weather picks up for a bit before winter sets in so we can squeeze a few more weekends camping in before the end of the season!
