Hi all we have just bought a 15" combi lcd tv with dvd and freeview for the kids room at home but were thinking we could take it away with us for longer camping trips. Can anyone recommend a good aerial for this?
We have this one Fiona one 4 all we've used it at home, in my office!, on visits to other people's houses along with a laptop. It fold flat (in half) and so far we've always had a very good reception. It does need mains supply though so we haven't tried it in the tent as we have no EHU.
Hi fiona
You will find that only these types of antenna will pick up the free-view signals and only then in very good reception areas.any of these three will work we use the mid priced one Here you will also require a mast Mast
And something to fit it too like a ground spike.
But I I had known what I know now before I bought mine I would have gone for the satellite dish complete set up system then you will be able to receive free view no mater were you pitch this one is really cheap and you would require a satellite direction finder as they are small dishes and very directional. Dish Hi again that setup was only the dish, thought it was cheap if you are interested in going that way check out Maplins or serf the net for a free view satellite kit.
Hope this helps
Rex.
Thanks guys I looked at the satellite kit but it was £99 on Ebay which is a bit steep for the kids to watch cbeebies Think they will have to make do with dvds and maybe get something like the one4all for terrestial tv as I can't really see me and hubby watching it much if at all!
i'm sure Aldi or Lidl are selling a camping satellite system for around £70. it even comes with a direction finder and all in a neat plastic carry box.
hope this helps...
