have also gone with EHU and an electric halogen heater....

A tent is like a newborn born baby..... to some they all look the same..... but if its yours it's beautiful.

Go for it! We have camped in Oct half term a few times and also in -8 last year at Feb half-term. As long as you have a decent heater and decent bags or thick duvets you will be fine!

Hotels Suck. Villas are great but I can't take my Cadac on the plane....

We are going away in the tent.

EHU - heater, thermals for the children instead of pj's, duvets and proper sleeping bags, walking socks and lots of layers, waterproofs and wellies.  Going to a site with drying facilities, palyroom for children and a club house (not all singing and dancing laidon entertainment) for evenings - so really only sleeping/eating in the tent.

Give it a go - the worst is that you don't like it so have to pack up and come home but at least you can say you tried it.

We are due some nice summer weather so I'm hpoing this is when we will get it!!

A number of years back we were camped at Auchterarder for a week in November. Although cold at night, during the day it was bright and sunny and we were in T-shirts and Shorts. We had our lunch outside each day and whilst not exactly sun tanning weather, it was warm and pleasant.

80 miles to the north east, Aberdeen was at a standstill under a thick blanket of snow and all the schools were closed.

Ever since then we have gone camping (now caravanning) just whenever it suits us and we really do not pay any attention to which month it is. It can be just as bad in July as it can be in January.
