Hi there. I bought one of these last year for my 6 year old. They are fine, wash well etc. I wouldn't use it myself, as I dont like mummy style bags, but it is as big as a full size mummy bag.
My kids had these for their Gelert bags last year, they loved them, I forgot to take them this weekend ( I`m sure they`d still be cosy in their big bags.)
They have been known to used them on a chilly evening outside the tent...look like litle old ladies
I wish they made them for a double sleeping bag ( could make my own)
Im just wondering if I should get one for my 4 year old daughter as she has a pretty bog standard sleeping bag, I have bought her one of those all in one fleece pyjamas with feet in but this may be an added benefit.
Our Gelert sleeping bags were pretty thin, childrens ones, so I bought them and they were great. Mine sleep in their Peter Storm spotty thermal underwear!! and thick sox. ( and a hottie to warm up before they get in)
I`m sure the all in one will do the same as the fleece liner.
I think even I could sew two fleece blankets together, we did have a fleec blanket inside our double sleeping bag this weekend and it did make it more cozy,
We wouldn't go without our cotton liners in summer and my son took his fleece 1 on scout camp last week in october 2007 in a 2/3 season bag and complained of being to warm this is after I'd lectured the scout leader over wasn't it a bit late to be sleeping in draughty niger tents !!
But yes he's off this weekend again with scouts and he will be packing his fleece liner but it's his choice if he uses it
Well worth the £10 as i was told it puts another full season on a bag and 4 season bags are really dear now much cheaper option
I used to sleep all the year round in trucks, before the luxury of night heaters. I found that if you take a blanket and sew it up into a rectangle slightly smaller than your sleeping bag and slip it OUTSIDE your sleeping bag it hugs your body and is considerably warmer.
We have both fleece liners and poly cotton liners. The fleece ones are so snug and warm but at bit of a pain to get in and out of, great for sitting in in the evenings though!. We found the poly cotton ones a bit of a faf to use, ours have velcro down the sides which does making getting in and out easier but if you toss and turn as much as me they came undone and I got in a right knot!
Would defo recommend the fleeces ones !!
Im convinced ours saved ours lives this last week in our tent in subzero temps!! we were so warm and cosy in our liners inside our sleeping bags we didn't realise we had white frost on our top blanket until we woke up!!
this was the first time we had used them and I can honestly say they were great, would recommend them they hardly take up any room either. OH was sceptical when he saw it but was convinced after first night of use. I didnt find them to much bother to use either, but I did find that fastening them round my shoulders meant that when i moved in the night it prevented them wrapping all round me.
