Hello everybody,have just returned from only our second ever camping trip with the wife and youngest daughter 11.After carefully checking the campsite reviews,we decided on Pencelli Castle for two nights  and was not disappointed, but on our second night we were kept awake till the early hours by loud snoring coming from the tent next door.I think earplugs will be part of my essential equipment in future expeditions.Regards Mike.

you have my sympathy

Other than putting a pillow over his head and squeezing gently it's quite hard to find a way to shut him up though

Ear plugs are essential, not just for the snorers but all the other noises that are just a thin skin away

night time trickles, caughing, crying nippers, Pharps and early morning pan rattlers

Ear plugs rock, wouldn't be without mine

On a list of essential items for camping, top of the list would be your tent/caravan/campervan/whatever and in second place would be the earplugs!!!!!

As Caster says, they are not just for the snorers but for the miriad of noises that we do not hear at home where they are blocked out by brick, mortar and double glazing.

Had a similar encounter in August when we stayed at Searles. The pitch was perfect, enclosed on 3 sides with own hedge, felt quite exclusive, that is until night-time, when we discovered although we couldn't see our tent neighbours, boy we certainly could hear them - the head of the tent anyway.
