Is there anyone out there, that has tried and tested Gas and Electric heaters in there tent. I am thinking of going for one last weekend, but need heating for the evenings.

I just have concerns about condensation etc !!

Friend of mine thinks Gas would cause condensation, is this true ?

Electric fan heater for me. I just don't trust gas from a safety point of view. Never had any condensation problems with fan heater.

There's also the carbon monoxide issue with gas heaters too.

Hi bernie
The oil filled radiator will make a good form of heat for a tent it takes a wile to warm up but also take a while to cool down so can be turned off to boil a kettle or dry the wife's hair, and still give out heat. The only heater I would say is not up to winter heating is the Halogen heater as it only heats what is in front of it and does not heat the tent. But all heaters give out the same amount of heat per KW as the next, it is just the way they do it, we have a two KW programmable thermostatically controlled blow heater that we set the digital control to the heat required and it stay on the whole time we are resident,it then keeps the tent at the temperature we set or in a very cold night as high as it is capable of doing .we also have a 2KW parabolic dish heater as back up. Country site have have bad habit of power cuts and in winter in a tent this is no joke if it goes on for hours. but as our tents are all breathable we do not get effected with condensation caused by gas heat. Now I have my power draw sorted sorted I am considering a 2Kw oil filled radiator for winter use and leave it on all the time we are on site.
All the best
Rex.
